The Elder’s Invitational was conceived as a means by which EMU players could regularly play in a Doubles Tournament and Elder would keep track of scores and maintain a weekly ladder. Each quarter, Elder would identify a champion for the quarter and festivities were held at PJ Skidoo’s primarily because of the cost savings accrued from FFRC membership.
Elder’s was postponed during the second and portions of the Third Quarter, 2013. This was caused because of a severe infraction of Club Rules which disallowed the Elder from Scheduling six courts in advance resulting in some double bookings (a FFRC “no-no”). During the Elder’s sabbatical to Washington Medstar, he conceived an alternative to the scheduling dilemma.
The alternative is to be discussed when EMU Invited Members meet on August 6 at Skidoo’s to welcome Elder’s return and to consider these alternatives. Stay tuned….
